Charly learns to skate!

Charly went to her cousin Lainey's birthday party this past weekend. It was a skate party at Rob's old stomping grounds White Rock Skate. This was her first time on skates, and she absolutely loved it! I tried to skate with her only to fall hard a few times. I wish I had a picture for you, but I do have a mega bruise on my hip to prove it!! Skating is slightly more difficult when in your late thirties!

Anyway, she had such a great time, that she wanted to go out immediately to buy herself some skates. We went today to Academy, and she proudly bought them with her own money. Here she is in all her new gear!

Tribb is 2 months!

Tribb (Tribby, Tribster, Tribble, T) turned 2 months on June 7th! Time is flying by with our youngest boy. I have been an absolute horrible blogger, photographer, & videographer causing me to miss so many sweet moments on video & camera!! I do have a few though.

Tribb had his first official doctor's appt on April 13th where he weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz. He had already passed his birth weight at just 6 days old. At 2 weeks, he weighed 9 lb 4.2 oz! Growing fast!! Tribb rolled over from his tummy to his back at 4 weeks (mainly out of frustration I think). He's not a big fan of tummy time. Tribb has been such an amazing joy and blessing, however, I wouldn't rank him my "easiest" nor my "hardest." We've had our days of crying and/or no sleeping. But we've also had many smiley moments! I caught one on video as I had him smile at himself in my iphone.

On April 16th, he went to Nana & Pops' house for the first time to see all his Thomas family. It was a really fun first outing. He also got to go the very next weekend for Easter (see pic here). And then he also got to meet and hang with all his Cobb cousins over Mother's Day weekend (see pic here).

The greatest parts of the last two months have been watching T's siblings oooh and ahhh over their baby brother, especially Ridge. He is SUCH a great helper, almost too much sometimes. Ridge loves to put his huge paw hands on his brother's head or get right in his face to talk to him. Ridge loves him so very much.

Cobb is very protective and nuturing towards Tribb. He's always watching out for him, and usually the first to grab for a pacifier or anything to calm Tribb down (that's if he is able to beat Ridge to it!).

Charly can always seem to calm T-man with her sweet voice. She went with me to take T to get his 2 month shots. Sweet Charly rubbed his belly and sang to him. When the nurses gave him his shots, both Charly and I got teary eyed when we saw Tribb in pain.

Tribb's two month stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 3.6 oz (90th percentile)
Length: 22 1/4 in (24th percentile)
Head Cir: 16 in (62nd percentile)

My summary: Short & chunky baby! Love you Tribb!!

All the Cobb cousins...together in Houston

Two weekends ago, we journeyed down to Houston to attend Haley's 20th high school reunion at Kinkaid. It was a lot of fun to see her friends and I loved watching Haley catch up with all of them.

We also got to celebrate mother's day in Houston and it was a blast for our kids to hang out with their cousins... Abran, James, and Ellie.

Here they are.

Going home tomorrow

We have had a great time at the hospital. Haley is 'very tough' according to the nurses. She has done everything possible to get rid of tubes and wires, etc. As of this morning, they took out the IV, so she is free of everything.

Here are some more pictures:

Video: Visit to the Doctor

We visited the doctor yesterday and had a good report... though not without a little bit of worrying. Recently I (Rob) got the Canon 60D and I wanted to shoot some stuff and see what I could edit as fast as possible.
I love the Canon 60D!!!

I Got Bitten By A Zebra

Yes, I sure did. Yesterday we went to this awesome place in Glen Rose, TX called Fossil Rim. The zebras were really hungry so their noses were in our car looking for food. I was focused on taking pictures. . .

When I sat back, I was startled by a zebra looking directly at me from my window. I didn't have the right angle to get my hand flat, but tried to feed him anyway. Therefore, he had great access to my to my fingers (my fault). So glad it was me, and not any of the kiddos.

There were many deer-like animals, and Cobb and I liked to try to figure out which animal we were looking at/feeding.

Charly and I both thought the Emus and Ostriches were a little intimidating. We didn't feed those guys.

We also saw Giraffes. Unfortunately, they were full by the time we got there so they didn't come up to the car. Supposedly, they like to put their heads in sun roofs.

The rhinos and the cheetahs were behind fences, but still really cool to see.

We also loved the Aoudads (African Wild Sheep). They were so cute and hungry like the zebras. They would just stand there waiting for the next car to show up with food.

Below is a picture of my boys watching two rams wrestle. My boys love to wrestle so it was cool for them to watch:

And half way there was a place to get out, stretch, and eat lunch. The kids hammed it up at the petting zoo there:

And then Charly learned how to steer the car. She did a great job.

Cobb and Ridge tried too, but it didn't last too long.

We had planned to go to the Dinosaur Valley State Park nearby after Fossil Rim, but we were so tired. So the kids just took pictures in front of the dinosaurs at the entrance to Fossil Rim.

Great family day.
