10 Years Ago Today

10 years ago today, I (Rob) remember looking around at more than 500 people at Scofield Memorial and thinking, 'They KNOW I'm getting the better end of this deal'. I mean come on! Haley is choosing ROB??
I'm kinda joking, but mostly not joking... and if you were there with us that day, you felt it too.

When Haley came through the doors, she really was the prettiest bride I had ever seen. However, she only appeared as a 'blur' for the next hour. Why? Well, for two reasons. First, because everything felt surreal and blurry that day. But the main reason is because she was bouncing non-stop. If I was prone to motion sickness, I may have gotten sick standing next to her (as it is, I'm barf free since October 1993).

Okay, I'm kind of exaggerating, but ask the people who were there... she was bouncing.

The truth is, I love knowing she was bouncing. It was another indicator for me that she loved me. Considering the fact that I pretty much fell for Haley the moment I saw her and it took her two years to do the same, even on our wedding day, I cherished the indicators.

The last 10 years have really been amazing. Haley is an amazing wife and mom to our 3 (almost 4) kids. I'm still the guy that got the better end of the deal, and I'm just going to accept it. What a gift Haley is to me.

Happy 10 Year Anniversary, Haley!

I love you,
Rob

Best Daddy

We were eating breakfast the other day. The conversation went like this:

Me (talking to kids): Hey, you know what? Your daddy is the greatest daddy.
Cobb: NO. He's not. God is the greatest daddy.

Thank you Cobb for reminding us as a family to look to the Lord as our perfect Daddy who loves us, and calls us HIS! I love to tell our kids that they are mine, that they belong to me, and that they are precious in my sight. But how much more important that our creator says, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." Isaiah 43:1a He calls us Precious, Honored in His sight, and He loves us (Isaiah 43:4). He rejoices over us with singing! (Zephaniah 3:17). And even though we think our daddy Rob is the best daddy ever, he is nothing compared to our perfect Father in heaven. May we rest in His peace, faithfulness, and perfect love.

The Tale of Ridge and the Broken Arm

So I haven't blogged in a while... I thought a little bump in the road like a broken arm could get me going again. My sweet Ridge was wrestling with his brother during "rest" time on Saturday, and he broke his arm in two places.
Rob took him to Acute Care Kids (love that place. . . in and out in an hour!)
Here he's getting his temporary splint:

Today we went to see Dr. Heinrich (our good friend who sweetly added Ridge to his schedule today). Ridge felt very calm with Will and Sam's daddy. . .

He ended up smiling the whole time. He thought getting a cast was really cool.

We laughed a lot. Charly and Cobb did too.

Charly was looking at a magazine, and saw the Old Spice guy. She asked the guy in the above picture, "Is this you?" We all got a good laugh at that, as well as my kiddos asking him why he had a kiss mark on his knee(it was really just a stain from a red cast he had put on a patient earlier in the day).

Ridge is doing well. He is actually excited about his cast because he thinks his cast makes him stronger than Juggernaut from Super Hero Squad:
