A lazy Sunday afternoon

Today, Blake Holmes gave an amazing message that we'll continue to digest . . . he gave a great analogy . . . he said, "if you really want to know how fast you are, you get on the track and run in a race . . . that will show you how fast (or slow) you really are. If you want to know where you are spiritually, go through trials." This will be a message that I watch again and again (thanks to the podcast). I always feel that I learn a lot from the messages I hear at Watermark . . . but today, I really thought Blake was talking to Haley and me. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm only thinking of myself. I realize other people are going through hard things, and probably worse things. I just really got a lot out of it. Thanks Blake!

Rob, Haley and family,
You have no idea who I am - I got your blog from Sandra, who I know through an online group. I just wanted you to know that I have been and will continue to pray for you. God is so good, He has been glorified so much through your faith and your choosing to trust. A song that has blessed my husband and me in the trials we have faced in the past, "Blessed Be Your Name" comes to mind as I read what you are going through. You are choosing to bless God, to praise Him in the midst of so much unknown, and I can't tell you how much that has encouraged me! I am waiting for results from a biopsy right now, and seeing how you have handled your situation makes me even more determined to trust God, no matter what. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.
